CareerTally
Progress adds up.
A job search tracker for iPhone and iPad. It used to be called Career Clip.
Role
Brand, logo and app design
Platform
iPhone and iPad
Year
2026

I started this app as Career Clip. It worked, but it never looked like one thing. CareerTally is the same app with a new name, a new logo and a look that finally feels calm.
The rebrand
New name. New logo. Same app.
Career Clip did the job, but it never felt like one thing. I kept everything that worked and rebuilt how it looks, starting with the name and the logo.

CareerTally
Before and after
Same app. Calmer screens.
Career Clip used orange for everything: buttons, tabs, charts and links. CareerTally keeps one Blue-Violet action per screen, groups things into quiet cards and lets the light sit at the top.
Home
A tile for every number became one tally of where things stand.

CareerTally
Applications
Big orange cards became a tight list, with initials and a stage beside each role.

Insights
Four stat tiles and a chart became this week’s bars and one plain finding.

The tab bar
Five labelled tabs with Add in the middle became four tabs in a glass bar, with Add sitting beside it.

The logo
One mark, every lockup.
Three bands stepping down to the right, like a tally adding up. It comes as a symbol, a horizontal lockup and a stacked lockup, in Carbon, white and Blue-Violet.

Tinted
The app icon and its alternates, plus the dark and tinted versions iOS draws on the Home Screen.
The identity
Calm by design.
One blue and one typeface, so every screen feels like the same app.
One blue
Blue-Violet is saved for the main button. Everything else stays neutral.
Aa
One typeface
Instrument Sans in four weights, for everything. Emphasis comes from two shades of ink, never a second font.

On the Home Screen
The new icon, sitting where it belongs.

Campaign
One person, one line, a small logo.
Ads follow the same rules as the app: calm colour, a short line in Instrument Sans and plenty of room around it.
Applications
Every application, in one place.
Paste a job link and CareerTally fills in the role and company. Or bring them in from a spreadsheet, an email, a screenshot or Gmail.

Insights
See what’s actually working.
Insights counts what you sent this week and spots patterns, like how long companies usually take to reply.

Tally Card
Share the good news.
Got an offer? The Tally Card turns your progress into a post or a story. You choose what shows, and company names stay hidden.

CareerTally Plus
Free stays free.
No trials, no countdowns. Plus is €7.99 a month or a 90-Day Pass for €17.99, and the free plan keeps unlimited applications.

Notifications
It all happens in the Dynamic Island.
Alerts grow out of the island, say one thing and fold back. Interviews and follow-ups run as Live Activities on the Lock Screen.

The same interview, counting down on the Lock Screen. No bottom toasts, no side banners.
iPad
Made for the bigger screen too.
On iPad the list sits beside the detail, with a glass sidebar for moving around. Same app, more room.
